The danger of life’s greatest challenge.
What stops people doing what they really want?
Sat writing this post a feeling that, for whatever reason, my own thoughts and words are rejected by others. A fear of rejection.
How often are we all consumed by this very idea. An argument with ourselves that stops us moving forward in ways we want to.
“I really wish I had…”
Words that may or may not resonate with you, yet.
People often see the result and wonder how people got there. How do people become famous, rich, successful and loved? They have likely taken a multitude of steps forwards and backwards. Encountered utter failure and been rejected by others.
They were very likely frightened, excited and so happy/unhappy they felt physically sick. The difference is they went through this personal battle and re-built themselves with utter determination. Though, an egotistical or shallow mind isn’t required.
You may think these words are either:
1. Utter crap — in which case I kindly accept the rejection.
So, left with 2 options you either try and live true to your self-worth or let the thoughts, actions or ideas of others carry you along. The second option is easier. Much easier. But the regret it might force you to carry is even harder to cope with.
Plagued by fear how will you adapt to a future which needs creativity, ideas and faith in ourselves?
Small acts of courage compound. So start small and who knows where it may end.
